It’s that time of the year again.  Go up into your attic or dad’s closet to get your Santa Claus hat, boots and belly ready for a jolly good time this Saturday afternoon.  Not only will Santa be there but so will  Mrs. Claus and the elves.

 If you haven’t figured it out yet it is Denver’s  biggest Christmas kick-off costume party!! The 9th Annual Santa Claus Pub Crawl this Sat. 12/4/2010.

  The only requirement to participate in all this fun is that you must bring a $10.00 unwrapped new toy for a donation to a local Denver Charity.

The fun begins at Fado’s pub at 1:30pm.  See Yelp’s review and schedule of events for this year’s Santa Claus Pub Crawl 2010.

I love handmade goodies, maybe you do too!  This is your opportunity to see new trends from the hipster crafters of Denver. 

Some of the vendors who you might see at either of the two events below are as follows….

Kiwi and Company, Simone Meyer, owner.. She makes a variety of knitted items and really cool leg warmers from recycled sweaters (very creative).

Fishy Fishy,  Cynthia Leibman, owner …. She makes needle felted animal mobiles that swing from a window, felted jewelry and little creatures to set around  your house out of felted wool. Very interesting and a must see.

Mukee, Derek Keenan, owner…. Makes jewelry and belt buckles out of recycled skateboards.

These artists and many more will be found at the winter craft fairs listed below.  Hope you can make it to one or both of the fairs to support these local craftspeople.

Many members of Denver’s Handmade Alliance will have their craft booths set up and ready to invite you to browse their respective wares.

It is the 3rd year for this all out extravaganza of homemade items.  I personally purchased quite a few items that got rave reviews from my friends and family who received the gifts over the holidays.

Fancy Tiger is a store in the heart of the Baker District on S. Broadway that caters to teaching the art of knitting, sewing and all types of craft projects.  Great place to take a quick class to brush up on your crafting skills or learn a new one! Who knows what talents are hidden inside of you.

Bring dollars $$$ and checks as most of the crafters don’t do Visa or Mastercard.

It’s that time of year again when the ghosts, goblins and gorillas come out to play in Denver.

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year!! If you are looking for something strange and out of the ordinary this is the site to hear all about it.

Here is my TOP 5 list of fabulous Halloween events.

1. Gorilla Run   Join over 1,000 denverites/runners for this fun charity event in downtown Denver this Saturday Oct. 30th, 2010 9:00 am.  Register soon to get your FREE Gorilla suit.  Visit the link and have a laugh filled run early Sat. morning. I’ll try to get there and have some photos to share.

2. Molly Brown House Halloween Full Tea   Make your reservation for the Halloween English style tea at the Molly Brown house this Saturday, October 30, 2010 at either 11 am or 1pm. Show up in your Gorilla costume or another creative outfit and try to win a prize.

3. Boo-lesque show at Lannie’s clocktower cabaret:  What fun can be had at Lannie’s clocktower cabaret.  Wear your costume and win a prize.  There are only 4 shows this weekend so get your tickets soon.

4. Bats Live event at Denver Botanic Gardens:  Face your fears and learn more about bats by seeing them live at the Denver Botanic Gardens this Saturday night October 30, 2010 from 7:00-8:30pm.  What a wonderful way to celebrate our Hallowed Halloween flying creatures.  Boo!!

5. Corn Maze at Chatfield: Lots of fun to be had strolling through the crazy corn maze, while eating a carmel apple and scaring yourself as you can’t find your way out!  This is one of the countries biggest corn mazes and will not disappoint.  Open all weekend with hayrides available on the weekend.
